Palazzo Versace Review: Luxurious Gold Coast getaway, designer style

Palazzo Versace

The Palazzo Versace Gold Coast caters for a wide range of corporate functions – in designer style

The $300 million Palazzo Versace Gold Coast is the world’s first luxury designer hotel. Located on the edge of the Gold Coast Broadwater just 100 metres from the beach, it opened its doors in September 2000. Every year since, Palazzo Versace has won a swag of awards including best luxury Australian hotel at the world luxury hotel awards and other impressive accolades, including a spot in the most recent CondeNaste Traveller Reader’s Choice Awards.

Gianni Versace helped design many features and aspects of the Palazzo Versace, from the architecture and furnishings through to ornamentation and overall ambience. With a vision of matching the opulence once confined to the grand hotels of Europe, the Palazzo Versace features rich marbles and mosaics, vaulted ceilings hand-detailed in gold and even an antique chandelier that once lit the grand State Library of Milan.

Palazzo Versace incorporates 200 elegant rooms and suites, 72 neighbouring condominiums, three award-winning restaurants and a 90 berth private marina. For guests more interested in rest and relaxation, The hotel also offers a water salon experience including spa treatments around a 65 metre heated outdoor lagoon pool with a pure white sand beach, a fitness and wellbeing centre with equipment by TechnoGym (imported from Italy) and an Aurora spa retreat which offers a range of treatments to help with relaxing and unwinding.

Palazzo Versace can also cater for a wide range of corporate functions. From events for up to 500 attendees and conferences for up to 450, through to a private boardroom (the “oval room”) which can accommodate up to 12 people, the venue offers more than 2000 square metres of event space through six flexible conference areas. Each area features state of the art audio visual systems, video conferencing, advanced computer interfacing, internet and ISDN lines plus fully resourced meeting support services.

For conference and incentive groups, Palazzo Versace can also provide a wide range of excursion and entertainment options, from winery tours, air/sea/land expeditions and helicopter convoys, through to rally car driving, beach activities and theme park outings.
